28 Categories For Kids
28 Categories For Kids is an educational app developed by BeeMoo LLC. Designed by an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist, this app aims to promote understanding and use of early developing semantic categories and vocabulary. Suitable for children who are developing language normally or those who are language delayed, the app focuses on 28 "superordinate" categories, including appliances, body parts, buildings, clothing, colors, desserts, dinosaurs, and more.
The app offers five activities to choose from. In the sorting activity, users drag pictured items to their appropriate category container. The "Find It!" game challenges users to choose the item that belongs to a specific semantic category. The "Which Does Not Belong?" game asks users to identify the item that does not belong in a group of pictured items. The memory match mode allows users to play a visual memory game with category members, adding a fun twist to vocabulary practice. Lastly, the flashcards mode helps introduce or practice naming category members with 8 vocabulary words in each category.
With its visually appealing illustrations and engaging activities, 28 Categories For Kids provides a valuable tool for language development in children.
